Easy Marinara Sauce

1 28 oz. can of Contadina Crushed Tomatoes or equivalent
2-3 tbsp. of Tomato paste
½ large onion, roughly chopped
2-3 large cloves of garlic, chopped
1 or more teaspoons of dried oregano or basil
½ tsp. of granulated sugar
¼ cup of Extra Dry Vermouth (or other dry white wine)
2-3 tbsp. of olive oil
Salt and pepper

Put olive oil in heated pan.
Add onion and garlic which should sizzle when it hits the hot oil.
Add salt, pepper, and oregano and sauté for about five minutes until onion becomes translucent.
Pour crushed tomato into pan with onions. When sauce begins to boil add the vermouth and sugar. Stir until alcohol has evaporated off. Add tomato paste and simmer on low heat for about a half hour.
